Size. Ball training

Marker poles (marker discs) are placed in a line and players dribble over poles, an almost essential element in all football practice.

Coach William thinks this kind of training is wrong. Because logo plate will not move!

In game, when we attack with ball, opponent's defender cannot stand still like a marker. They will be constantly on move and will approach us to oppress us.

So, in Brazil, coaches allow players to practice dribbling more "freely".

Several players gather in an area and randomly place a number of markers on ground. All players can dribble and try new dribbling styles. There are only two rules:

1. Do not touch marking plate on ground.

2. Cannot collide with other players.

Incorrect markings on ground and active satellites certainly complicate dribbling. Players will naturally develop habit of looking up during these drills.

2. Dribbling breakthrough

Many coaches divide two players into groups for 1v1 dribbling and breakout training. Coach William decided to split 4 players into groups for a breakthrough 1v3 dribbling workout.

Increasing number of defenders is necessary not only to complicate dribbling, but also for other reasons.

In example in picture below, when we are facing multiple defenders, if we choose to dribble to side, defenders behind opponent will definitely help in defense, which will certainly lead to a "stalemate".

Given existence of two defenders behind, we have chosen a more reasonable way to solve problem of protecting several opponents.

So purpose of organizing a 1v3 workout is to give us some thought: what do we do next after we defeat first person?

As they say, people who don't have long-term worries should have short-term worries. The end goal is that we can think further in 1V1, prepare in advance for second person's attack, and calculate second person's possible defense. Think about next step instead of just thinking about how to get rid of person in front of you. After such preparation, we will play football more intelligently.

Pass first guy, pass second guy, be forced to pass third guy, and finally be forced to kick ball over baseline... If you have a guy like that, show him this.
