There is an old saying that if you want to play well, you must stop ball well. The ability to stop ball can often reflect a player's feel for ball and ability to control ball, and stopping ball is also an important basic skill.
The stop of Qi Zu can be called a masterpiece, and ball was stopped in one fell swoop
Stop ball with inside of your foot
Run in direction of ball, bend your pivot leg slightly, control your ankle, turn inside of your left or right foot towards ball with a slight slant, tilt your toe slightly and lift it slightly. At moment ball stops, inside of foot moves forward to touch ball, and at moment ball touches, sole of foot moves back towards ball to buffer.
Go to next movement, catching ball, use inside of foot to bend ball in other direction.
When receiving ball, turn sideways to face ball, placing supporting foot in front and stop foot behind.
Stop ball with outside of foot
The basic movement is similar to inside of foot. Stand with sole of left foot up to left, with left foot of supporting foot as axis, body sways slightly to left, and at same time right foot stretches ankle joint to left to relax. At moment ball stops, incoming ball touches outside of foot and outside of foot leans back slightly.
According to a certain principle, after receiving ball with outside of foot, immediately take ball outward, turn around and connect with other actions.
This one-touch ball stop training will help you keep passing and shooting when you're under pressure.
The sole of ball
Facing ball, turn your toes up, lift soles of your feet, turn to face ball, and relax your ankles so that front of your feet touches middle and top of ball. . When ball is flying too fast, if timing is wrong, foot is raised too high, or ball is stepped on with sole, ball will often roll under foot.
When stopping ball, focus, watch falling ball, evaluate direction and landing point of falling ball, keep your body relaxed, take initiative to take a step forward to meet ball, and use a suitable position to stop. There is no need to stop ball dead center. Instead, properly park ball under your control to be ready for next pass, shot, or speed dribbling.
