Having good speed and sprint ability can make us more active in game. In many cases, a player's ability to run and sprint is often one of important metrics to gauge upper limit of a player's ability!
Walking with high legs
Place your hands on your hips to keep your upper body balanced.
Alternately raise your legs up and forward.
Knees should be higher than waist.
When you get up, your toes should be pointed up.
Land on forefoot only.
Note: Do not touch ground with your heels. Try to maintain vertical balance of body as much as possible. Tilts to left and right while running greatly affect speed!
High leg jumping
Place your hands on your hips to keep your upper body balanced.
While legs alternate up and down, there should be a small jump at moment feet touch ground.
You can gain as much speed as you can raise and lower your legs.
Note. Make sure your knees are above your waist.
Quick leg raise
Place your hands on your hips to keep your upper body balanced.
Run to finish line with high leg raises as fast as you can.
Hand exercises
Sit up straight and bend your arms at a 90° angle.
Legs together and straight.
The arms are also a very important part of running because speed and efficiency of arm swing is directly proportional to your running speed. Maintaining correct posture when swinging your arms is key to making your arm swing effective!
