1. Pull ball forward

The force can only come into play after foot brakes. If feet are turned together at same time, force will be dissipated and there is no way to concentrate on ball.
3. Relax and drive down
You missed process of building up force while dribbling, and you didn't get racket back far enough, so your hand is in a relatively stiff and drawn state, there's not enough friction, and there's a lot of hitting. If ball has little spin, you won't be able to pull it up. You have no friction while actively moving up and forward.
